Financial Literacy
When I have conversations about financial matters with family, friends, and people in the industry, and it seems that there is one topic that often arises: a low financial literacy amongst young people. In my time here at Ciccone McKay, I realized that there was a void of information that young people have available to them surrounding their finances. But where could one person go to get this information? Where would one start?
That is when I wanted to take it upon myself to provide a source of information that might allow young people to make more educated decisions when it comes to their money. In all my years of education, I was never educated about the basics of the Canadian financial system or any key topics surrounding my finances. This was the inspiration behind the name of the Series: What They Never Taught Us. I feel this series of articles will provide a source of educational material for young people.
